I am a WAHM (Melissa) of 2 wonderful girls and my husband is a chef and part owner of a nifty little bistro.  We live in the St. Louis metropolitan area in IL.  I have been sewing my whole life, having been taught by my mother and my grandma, and doing a lot of experimenting on my own, LOL!  For 13 years, I designed and produced a clothing line which I distributed to independent boutiques.  I also frequented music festivals and concerts selling my wares. (YO YO Grateful Dead!)

I had started using a generic ring sling with my oldest daughter back in 2000, and used it everyday for 3 years.  When I was pregnant with our second child in 2004, it seemed like a ‘no-brainer’ to make my own sling, since I had been sewing for a living for many years.  I made several slings for myself and friends, with great reward and gratitude from the recipients.  To me, it was a natural progression from what I had been doing already for all of my adult years. 

I integrated my slings, which my oldest daughter named “Magic Sling,” into my selling repertoire and had a huge positive response in regards to it.  I have sold them in my booth at music festivals, city fairs, bazaars, and on the internet.  My clothing line has fallen to the wayside these days as I focus more of my attention on Magic Sling.  It is so much more rewarding to me than clothing design could ever be.  I love turning moms onto the life changing experience of babywearing.  I know how much it changed my mothering and my relationships with my children, and I can only hope that my efforts are fruitful for other parents as well.
